at $55.41 per half day, i still paid too much

When I signed up for the PMP Exam Prep, I expected a certain calibre of presenters/instructors. I just assumed that since the instructors were chosen by the PMI people to teach the course, they would all be prepared (i.e. having gone through the presentation slides at least once) and have some good, concrete, and practical examples. Now I know it’s mildly unreasonable to expect this of every single instructor, but never did I ever in my wildest imagination believe that we could possibly get an instructor as horrible as this.

Over 80% of the class walked out during the morning break. As you can see… it’s around 10:30 am right now and I’m posting on my blog. The course runs from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.

It was unbelievable how horrible this instructor was. When asked to give a practical example from his work experience, he’d regurgitate something from the PMBOK. And not only that… he’d regurgitate it INCORRECTLY! He would literally read the slides to us (because you know, we can’t read them ourselves) and then say, “You can read up about that in your spare time.” WTF?! I didn’t pay $610 for these sessions so that you could read slides to me and tell me to go research on my own. I paid this so that you could share your experiences about this knowledge area.

It’s okay… at $13.85/h I guess I shouldn’t complain.

Quote of the day: “If the buyer wants, what he thinks he wants, then he wants what he thinks he wants.”

I swear… it was like the lesson was being delivered by Donald Rumsfeld, or George W. Bush himself.
